We love our clients, and they love working with us.

Here’s what they’re saying:

  • “Getting to the heart of what “People First. Design Forward.” meant to our firm was central to our rebranding goals. While we knew it when we saw it, articulating it was a different story. The Beauty Shop took care to define and capture the meaning of our ethos, our brand personality, and our core values in a manner described by founding partner Sid Scott as “like holding up a mirror.”

“We know you have other clients you are working with right now, but you have always made us feel like we are the only one (which is huge for me, because I had the opposite experience in the past with another creative agency). Thank you team TBS!”

    — Alexi Meuwissen, Associate Director of Marketing and Business Development, Scott Edwards Architecture

“Even in the short time that I’ve been with SEA and had the opportunity to work with you, it is so clear that the TBS team is something special”

    — Vanita Carrillo-Rush, Marketing Communications Coordinator, Scott Edwards Architecture

  • “We couldn’t have asked for a better, more talented team to work with on our website redesign. We appreciated their design-forward approach, collaborative process, and problem solving. Fun, smart and creative – you can’t beat that combination.”

    – Beckie Lee, Director of Development & Partnerships

“We are thrilled with this beautiful brand. You all knocked it out of the park! It was a true pleasure working with each of you and I hope we get to again in the future!”

    – Jaclyn Sarna, Director of Youth and Family Services, Hacienda CDC / Arrobas Initiative

  • “The responses to the new website today have been so enormously positive! … the beautiful work you’ve done for us has already done a lot to shift our tone and visual connection with our community and that is felt by all of us. Thank you!!!

    – Chelsea Slaven-Davis, Director of Marketing & Communications, Cedarwood Waldorf

  • “We're so grateful for everything you've done to transform our look and improve our site navigability. Because of your help, we're taking a giant leap forward. I think everyone is elated about the new site. Thank you for your incredible patience and flexibility through all of the twists and turns of this project (so much has happened since we first began). Your steady hand and professionalism, in addition to your talents, made it all possible.”

    – Elizabeth Seaberry, Communications Specialist, DRO

Our core values and studio culture reflect a commitment to the principles of feminine economy, ethical practice, integrity, and social responsibility.

Here’s how we put our values into action:

  • We dedicate 5 weeks per year to all-team time off

We take work/life balance seriously. Our studio is closed for one week each quarter and two weeks in December for completely offline full-team breaks.

These scheduled breaks ensure our team takes time to refresh, recharge, and relax so that we can return to our roles renewed and full of inspiration to dedicate to our projects.

We have an equitable salary system with competitive pay for all employees and less than a 20% pay difference between employees and owners.

We believe that each team member contributes to the success of our business equally. Automatic annual raises each year reflect time invested in the business.

We have unlimited sick and mental health days to put the health of our team first.

We are fully remote and flexible.

Our remote team is connected and collaborative, and flexes to support diverse working styles and needs. We are always striving for improved accessibility within our remote work environment.

  • In 2016, The Beauty Shop founded Visible Studio, a 501(c)3 non-profit creative agency dedicated to increasing equitable access to professional creative services.

Together with our team of volunteers and Studio Partners, we coordinated the donation of over 1M in pro-bono creative work to support underserved businesses, causes, and non-profits between the years of 2016-2021.

While Visible Studio is now closed, we’re proud of the work we did to increase equitable access to professional creative services and improve equity within the creative industry.

Check out an archive of our work here.

  • Each year, we donate 60 hours of creative work to 1 long-term pro bono client. We currently serve Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center as their website design and development and exhibit design team.

In addition, our studio donates 1-3 pro bono branding projects to non-profit or BIPOC-owned businesses per year. We allocate 80 hours over 3 months to each pro-bono branding project.

Our entire team participates in pro-bono projects through discovery, conceptualization, design, critique, and refinement.

  • Each year, we extend three 25% low-bono discounts to three non-profit organizations working with us on comprehensive projects.
